Mission
As a national effort we seek the
commitment of all Americans to fervently pray daily for all those in
authority including their state's visual starting point, a lightning rod from
which prayer can begin, prayer for their Governor, his staff and legislature
that by this they can dramatically impact the lives of those in their state
and ultimately our country.
Also to
reestablish, rebuild and
reclaim
the public places of
worship in our nations capitals and courthouses in the very name under which
they were established “Jesus Christ”.
Lastly to equip the saints by aiding them in establishing their ministry
Who we are
The National Governors'
Prayer Team (NGPT) is a cooperative effort of independent
Christian ministries, businesses and people who are
working together to intercede for and on behalf of all
those in authority including the position Governor for their state.
The National Governors’ Prayer
Team is an organization dedicated to presenting America's forgotten history
and heroes, with an emphasis on the moral, religious, and constitutional
foundation on which
America
was built.
In accord with what was
so accurately stated by George Washington, we believe that “the
propitious [favorable] smiles of heaven can never be expected on a
nation which disregards the eternal rules of order and right which heaven
itself has ordained.”
Psalm 11:3 reminds us,
“If the foundations be destroyed, what shall the righteous do?”
Our goal
Our Goal is to exert a direct
and positive influence in government, education, and the family by (1)
educating the nation concerning the Godly foundation of our country; (2)
encouraging Christians to be involved in the civic arena (3) to empower the
Christian American spirit by aiding these in establishing their ministry (4)
by reestablishing, rebuilding and reclaiming (the 3 R’s) the public places
of worship in our nations capitals and courthouses in the very name under
which they were established “Jesus Christ”.
Our network enables participants to distribute prayer requests
regarding the challenges facing the Leaders of today's
world to |
committed prayer leaders & intercessor
teams in
the communities of all 50 States. The network enables the
teams to share feedback with those they intercede for and share
communication with other network members.
Many elected officials encourage prayer, however because
this is a long-term effort that will extend beyond the
term of these appointed and elected officials, no endorsements are
sought. We hold no affiliation with any political or
religious organizations, nor will it ever be used for
political or gain.When you sign up through your local

Leader’s site you will receive regular updates as a
reminder to uphold the governor, legislature, other local leaders, GPT
prayer leaders and intercessors like yourself in daily prayer.
All information will be
kept confidential and be used only for the Governors'
Prayer Team purpose.

Instructions On Worship
1I
urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers,
intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone– 2for
kings and all those in authority, that we may live
peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
3This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4who wants
all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the
truth. 5For there is one God and one mediator between
God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6who gave himself as
a ransom for all men–the testimony given in its proper
time.
8I want men everywhere to
lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or
disputing.
Our
Focus:
It is in
our commonality of Christ and our common need to do as
God instructs us to do that we follow what is written in 1 Timothy 2:1-6,8.
Our Prayer:
Jesus we pray to you for guidance as we from many
denominations come together under your umbrella to pray
for our leaders. Let us all come together in peace and
be Christ centered as we pray for them, their wives or husbands and children as they embark in this
roll of leader in our states.
May God's Blessing, His very hand, be on them one and
all. In Jesus name, Amen.
